A Small Start with A Big Finish
/Two Little Fins Graduates Head to State
We would like you to join us in congratulating Coronado High Schools Swim Team with an especially big shout out to Lillie Ratican and Peyton Baker. This swim and dive team is heading to our State Championship. This duo has been lifelong friends and both started swimming at Little Fins Swim School when they were little girls in 2015.
What started off as learning basic water safety skills in swim lessons at Little Fins, has turned these ladies into competitive female athletes and best friends. Both girls trained with Mr. Art until he referred them on to a swim team, the Colorado Torpedoes. Not only will both young women be representing the Cougars at State but they also will be representing Little Fins Swim School.
Little Fins has always had a special interconnection to families and building lifelong relationships. Peyton started swimming with her Aunt Kory Baker-Skalsky, who is one of Little Fins’ amazing Training Instructors. Lillie has stayed close to Little Fins, watching many of her cousins go through swim lessons, and she she is now one of Little Fins’ incredible Instructors.
What starts off small can grow into something big! We are so proud that both girls will continue to strive to be their best. “ Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” – Harriet Tubman.
Here are some fun photos of Lillie and Peyton, provided by their families, and their amazing moms, Casie Ratican and Monica Baker.
