About Little Fins Swim School

Little Fins Swim School started with a simple belief: every child deserves focused attention when learning to swim. Here, your swimmer gets dedicated instruction where they receive 100% of their teacher’s attention from start to finish. This one-on-one approach creates the foundation for confident, safe swimming.

That philosophy shapes everything we do here in Colorado Springs. Whether your baby is learning survival skills at six months old or you’re an adult learner who is building confidence for the first time, we teach one student at a time in warm, comfortable pools where learning happens naturally.

What We Offer at Little Fins Swim School

Little Fins serves swimmers from six months through adulthood with lessons built around individual needs rather than rigid group schedules. Our core offerings include one-on-one private lessons, small pod lessons for families who prefer a more collaborative learning experience, and parent-child Aqua Babies sessions for our youngest swimmers.

Beyond traditional lessons, we offer specialized programs like infant survival swim instruction (ISS) using the Swim-Float-Swim method, intensive Jump Start programs for accelerated learning, lap swim clinics, seasonal camps, and even mermaid training. Adults looking to learn or improve their swimming find patient, judgment-free instruction designed specifically for their pace and comfort level.

Every program happens year-round in our 94-degree heated indoor
pools, so Colorado winters never interrupt progress. Consistency
matters when building water safety skills, and our facilities make
that possible twelve months a year.

Find the Right Swim Lesson Format for Your Family

Choosing swim lessons starts with understanding which format fits your child's age, learning style, and your family's schedule.

How Our Instructors Teach

Walk into either of our locations and you’ll notice something right away: one instructor, one swimmer, complete attention. This approach allows instructors to adapt every moment of the lesson to your child’s pace, learning style, and comfort level. Skills build naturally when teaching responds to exactly where each swimmer is today.

Our instructors understand developmental stages from infancy through adulthood. Teaching a toddler looks different than teaching a school-age child, which looks different than teaching an adult who’s nervous about putting their face underwater. We match our methods to each swimmer’s current abilities, building skills progressively at a pace that feels challenging but never overwhelming.

The warm water helps too. Our pools stay at 94 degrees, comfortable enough for babies and pleasant for everyone else.

Who We Serve in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs families are our foundation. Parents who understand that swim lessons can be both recreation and essential safety education. Adults who’ve decided it’s finally time to learn. Military families stationed at Fort Carson who want their children water-safe before summer time. Grandparents bringing grandchildren for lessons during visits.

We work with families who have backyard pools, those who vacation near lakes and mountain reservoirs, and parents who simply want their children prepared for the unexpected around water. Our community includes families from across Colorado Springs, from neighborhoods near Garden of the Gods to homes around Palmer Park, Colorado Springs Country Club and everywhere in between.

Infant survival swim (ISS) draws parents of babies six months and older who recognize the critical developmental window for teaching self-rescue skills. Adult lessons bring people who grew up without swim instruction, those recovering confidence after difficult water experiences, and anyone who’s simply ready to learn something new.

Our Colorado Springs Locations

Little Fins operates two facilities in Colorado Springs, each with heated
indoor salt pools designed specifically for swim instruction.

The Garden of the Gods location (4465 Northpark Drive) sits in Northpark Plaza off Garden of the Gods Road and I-25. Families call this our Mermaid Cove location, and it offers convenient parking both front and rear.

Our Union location (1625 Medical Center Point) is in the Union Medical Complex at Union and Fillmore. You’ll find us next to the Cardiology office on the northwest corner.

Both facilities maintain the same standards: 94-degree heated pools, salt cell filtration, and year-round availability. Choose whichever location works best for your family’s schedule and commute.

Community Connection

Little Fins is family-owned and locally operated. We’re proud leaders and sponsors of the #NoChildDrowns movement, members of the United States Swim School Association and World’s Largest Swimming Lesson, and supporters of Hope Floats Foundation. Our scholarship program helps families who need financial assistance access swim lessons because we believe every child deserves water safety skills regardless of income.

Throughout the year, we host community events like Splash for the Brave, honoring military families, first responders, and teachers who serve Colorado Springs. These connections matter to us because we’re part of this community. As a family-owned business, we make decisions based on what works for Colorado Springs families, adapting our programs and schedules to meet the real needs of the swimmers we teach. You’ll often see the same faces here week after week, engaging with instructors who remember your child’s progress, on deck staff who know your family’s schedule, and owners who are genuinely invested in every swimmer’s success
