A Spooktacular Carnival for a Good Cause

On October 26, 2024 our Garden of the Gods location was inundated with little goblins and ghouls as we hosted our first event Halloween Carnival benefitting Hope Floats Foundation, our scholarship program providing families and kids with swim lessons who cannot otherwise afford them. The event featured games, face painting, a haunted house, and food provided by The Wildcard Food Truck and Catering.

In order for us to provide scholarships for kids in our community, we need your help. You can be a part of our goal to STOP DROWNING NOW, by donating online, attending one of our events, or participating in our fun ways to give each month at the pools.

  • Participation in formal swim lessons reduces risk of drowning by 88%! (NIH)

  • Children who learn to swim at a young age, not only can save their own life, but reach developmental milestones earlier than their non-swimming peers. According to Griffith University research (2013), participation in swim lessons at an early age boosts the development of the Whole Child and they measure up to:

    • 20 months ahead in understanding directions

    • 17 months ahead in story recall

    • 10 months ahead in cognitive skills

    • 7 months ahead in fine motor skills
