I can’t tell you how many parents have told me they were this close to canceling an outdoor party because of a surprise cold front, and then remembered they’d booked with us instead.
There’s also something about water that just works for kids’ parties. Every kid, whether they’re a strong swimmer or still getting comfortable in the water, tends to have a genuinely good time in a pool. You don’t get the kid standing off to the side not knowing what to do. The water gives everyone something to do together.
What Happens at a Little Fins Birthday Party
Here’s what I want every parent to know before they book: you show up with your birthday kid and their friends, and that’s really it. You’re not setting up, you’re not running games, and you’re not the one watching the water.
Every party comes with a dedicated party host and lifeguards on deck. The host manages the whole flow of the day, moving the group from pool time into cake and presents without you having to herd anyone. The lifeguards are there strictly for water safety, which means you can actually sit down, talk to the other parents, and take pictures instead of counting heads the whole time.
Your group gets the pool to itself for your reserved time. No sharing space with other swimmers, no competing with a lesson happening in the next lane. It’s just your kid’s friends and the water.

Making the Planning Part Easier on Yourself
A few things I’d tell any parent planning a party with us, or honestly anywhere:
Decide on food early. You can bring your own cake and snacks, or you can skip a step and add on pizza or mac and cheese through us directly. Either way works, but knowing ahead of time saves you a last-minute grocery run.
Bring the essentials, we’ll handle the setup. Your job is the birthday cake, candles, and any decorations you’re excited about. We take care of the party area, the tables, and the chairs before you arrive.
Think about your guest list before you pick a package. A smaller, more intimate group at our Garden of the Gods area location feels different than a bigger celebration at Union, and both are good options depending on what your child wants. If you’re not sure which fits your group, that’s exactly the kind of thing our team can help you think through when you call.
Don’t forget the swimsuits. Every guest who’s getting in the water needs a swimsuit and towel. It sounds obvious until it’s the day of the party and someone forgot their swim bag.
If your child isn’t a strong swimmer yet, bring a US Coast Guard-approved life jacket. Our pools are teaching pools without a zero-entry area, so kids may not be able to stand or touch the bottom. If your child doesn’t swim independently, or if you plan to get in the water with them, please bring your own USCGA-approved life jacket or flotation device — we don’t provide these, since we’re a swim school focused on lifesaving instruction rather than a recreational facility.

Whether you’re closer to the Garden of the Gods area or over by Union Boulevard, we’ve got you covered. Families across the Pikes Peak region end up choosing whichever location is easiest to get to, and honestly, both pools give you the same warm water and the same level of hosting and safety supervision. The Union location is the only spot that offers our Glow Birthday Party, so keep that in mind if the blacklight version is what your kid has their heart set on.
